When we talked to serious guitar enthusiasts, the number one reason they told us they haven’t bought from a boutique builder is fear of getting ripped off. Guess what, getting ripped off just happens to be a big problem for builders too. We want to fix that, here’s how…
Stringed Collective guarantees the transaction for both the builder and the buyer. When a buyer is ready to purchase, they will pay a deposit through Stringed Collective. Then, Stringed Collective issues a payment to you, the builder. You’ll have the cash you need for materials and whatever else you need to get going. Technically, the buyer’s money is in escrow, and you have our money for the deposit. Our promise to the buyer is, if you don’t deliver per the terms of the purchase, we pay them back. Likewise, when you’re ready to ship, if the buyer doesn’t pay, you’re not out anything but your time. AND, we’ll help you sell the instrument commission free. When the buyer uses financing, it’s even better. That’s settled up front, and you get the cash as soon as shipping is confirmed.
Or, if it’s a stock build, we’ll just hold the buyer’s cash until we get shipping notification, and then we issue the payment directly to you. Boom, the money in your bank.
